Post subject: | how to NOT start the frontend at boottime |
Hello everyone, First of all, I got knoppmyth installed and running and I really like it so far. I ran into a few problems, a few which are still not resolved but it works now. In my setup I run the backend and frontend separately. One thing I could not find the awnser to even after a good search is how to make knoppmyth only start the backend and stop there. The way it is now it runs all the way to the frontend. I searched the initd scripts but could not find where the frontend is started. Could someone please point me in the right direction and tell me where the fronend is started? Thanks |

well are you trying to keep X from starting or just mythfrontend? X is started by gdm an init script. mythfrontend is started form ~/.flubox/apps or something very similar which runs a knoppmythsomthingorother.sh script. |

Thanks, that was what I was looking for. I removed the link to gdm from rc.5 and now it's just the backend thats running. |
