I'm happy to announce the availability of KnoppMyth R5A15. A lot of work has gone into this release. Many thanks to the mirror masters for hosting the ISO and to the testers for testing. Sorry it took so long to get it out, but we wanted to get it right.
New features include.
MythTV 0.18, plugins and themes.
create_lvm.sh: script to setup LVM to use it:
Code:
create_lvm.sh /dev/hda4 /dev/hdb1
This would create and LVM volume using /dev/hda4 and /dev/hdb1. You need to ensure the drives are partitioned before running the script. You can run this script after installing and rebooting. When presented with the xterm and request for root password,
DON'T ENTER ANYTHING, instead:
Code:
<CTRL><ALT><F1>
log in as root and create the partitions if need be, then run the script. Once complete
Code:
<CTRL><ALT><F7>
and continue and installation. This is only for new installs. This script will not search for an exist LVM volume on auto upgrade (not yet..).
lirc-reconfig.sh: Script to reconfigure LIRC. If you have a Hauppauge grey remote, you don't have to do anything other than start LIRC.
Code:
/etc/init.d/lirc start && update-rc.d lirc defaults
Some issue exist with recompile LIRC for some remotes, mceusb for instances. I'll address this in future releases.
Modified Fluxbox to open an xterm w/ <ALT><X>
Modified Fluxbox to run mythtv-setup w/ <ALT><S>
Modified Fluxbox to run mythfrontend w/ <ALT><M>
Reduces need for a mouse.
Little bug fixes here and there.
Both 6129 (w/ patch) and 7174 nVidia drivers.
The Air2PC card now works out the box!
The 2.0 drivers for the pcHDTV 2/3000 are not included. With these drivers, the card are seen as DVB devices. To learn more about setting up these cards, take a look at
this. Note: While moving to the DVB drivers makes the setup of the 2/3000 more difficult (more steps) than before, the drivers do perform better. In order for DVB cards to work w/ the program guide, you'll need the XMLTVID. If you are upgrading, you can find the XMLID in the database. You can use Webmin to find the them in the channel table. If you doing a new install, run mythfilldatabase first and you'll find the XMLTVIDs.
And much, much more!
Enjoy,
Cecil and Dale
