I installed and its working great. Config: Hauppauge PVR 250 capture card nvidia MX440 video card with tvout AMD 800 MHz CPU with AMD 751 Irongate chipset board onboard audio (C-Media CM8738) 802.11b lan Dlink DWL-520 2 20 Gig harddrives (for now) 2 AMD 756 (Viper) onboard IDE controller 1 homebrew serial ir blaster (9pin f, diode, resist, IR LED) 1 DVD +- RW drive The only issue I had was when I installed, it did not like having the second harddrive on it (install would complete then lilo would die <or not engage> on boot). I disconnected the 2nd harddrive, reinstalled, then hooked the 2nd drive up after boot and made a LVM with /dev/hda4 (/myth) & /dev/hdc1 (entire 2nd harddrive). When I installed, when it asked for root password in the xterm window I ctrl-alt F1'ed to do the install-nvidia.sh and there, I also set up iwconfig to get the wireless web up. Then I updated /etc/network/interfaces with the wireless_ parms I needed. Then continued on with install. Thanks for making it easy for me! Between the knoppmyth CD and the fora here, I never got stuck for long. Amy |

Actually, I've needed to re-install a number of times as I've changed systems etc. I just followed these instructions: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1351 The hardware is mind-numbingly simple for this variant of IR Blaster. diode, resistor, ir led, visible led (for diagnostic purposes), a waferboard to put the components on, a 9 pin dsub |

I'm not sure. Are you trying to use it to receive IR or send IR? Mine was to send IR signals to my sat box. The IR receiver I use is the one that came with my PVR 250. Your wireless keyboard ir port might be OK at receiving (depending on how it works) but it will not send (unless your referring to using the mouse and/or keyboard itself as a sender) I've heard of people using wireless keyboards in unique ways. You might ask in one of the more general categories. Good luck. Amy |
