My Celeron-box. (wife-friendly)

# Video type: SDTV
#Type of system: combined front- and back-end
# Noise level: I will put it in my closet because it is too loud, i am gonna find a way to solve this.

# CASE: some generic case, i'll eventually change this to something fancy
# PSU: some psu i once bought
# MOTHERBOARD: ECS p6vxat, a via-base mobo, no problems
# CPU: Celeron 900 MHz, my old pc
# RAM: 512 SDram from different old pc's
# CPU HEATSINK: some cheapo-thing, too loud
# NORTHBRIDGE HEATSINK: passive
# CD/DVD-RW: no-name dvd-writer
# HDD: 40 GB WD + 160 GB WD, now in LVM, with the use of webmin (way easier than the howto's on the wiki)
# GRAPHICS CARD: Elsa Gladiac 311, Geforce 2 MX 32MB, works perfectly, overscan settings adjusted in nvtv, started nvtv-deamon trough webmin)
# SOUNDCARD: Creative Live value, works perfectly
# TUNER CARD: Hauppauge PVR 150
# REMOTE CONTROL: bundled remote, works perfectly
# TOTAL COST: pvr-150 for 50$ on ebay, old hardware i had lying around

I had to do some overscan-settings and had to build the LVM, now it records perfectly, i can even watch live-tv... it only stutters when bringing up the OSD. (only when recording and watching recordings at the same time.)

Happy MythTV-ing

I upgraded some weeks ago to R5F1, not an actual upgrade, but a fresh install.
Also replaced the CPU cooler with a Zalman one, now it is quiet! lovely.
Installed a Wirelles network card of SMC and got it to work without any big problems using Ndiswrapper. I love it when it just works!

And i found some software to watch the recordings super-easy on windows XP. (Mythtv player)

wonderful!
