# Video type: HDTV
# Type of system: front-end
# Noise level: If it were not for the blue power light, I would not know it was on -- my TV makes more ambient noise.

# CASE: Mini-Box.com M350 plus extra a second HDD bracket and a Scythe SY124010L Mini-Kazi 40mm fan
# PSU: Zotac's 90W brick
# MOTHERBOARD: Zotac IONITX-C (Single Core Atom, No wifi)
# CPU: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU 230 @ 1.60GHz
# RAM: 1GB DDR2 800 (Kingston 2 x 512MB)
# CPU HEATSINK: Stock
# NORTHBRIDGE HEATSINK: Stock
# CD/DVD-RW: none
# HDD: 80GB Western Digital WD800BEVT-22ZCT0
# GRAPHICS CARD: nVidia Corporation ION VGA (rev b1)
# SOUNDCARD: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio (rev b1) / S/PDIF out to receiver. ALSA:spdif in settings.
# REMOTE CONTROL: Streamzap

Installed R6.01 with the usbstick image in 9 minutes flat (stopwatch).

I then took about 90 minutes to tweak things to my liking (settings, themes, config files, packages) but that was at my option.

Power consumption as measured with Kill-A-Watt:

20W @ idle
23W 1080p full bitrate blu-ray rip muxed into an mkv container.
26W 1080i OTA HDTV (KNBC Los Angeles) - Advanced 1x deinterlacer

[EDIT] After using the system for a few days, I noticed the GPU runs a bit hot. According to
Code:
$ nvidia-setttings -q GPUCoreTemp 2>/dev/null
it's running at about 75C idle and around 80C after 30 minutes of 1080p blu-ray rip (full bitrate, not transcoded). I'm going to try out a 40mm "quiet" fan and see A) if it helps the temp and B) it's quiet enough. [/EDIT]

[EDIT 2] I have now purchased a second HDD bracket for the M350 along with a Scythe SY124010L Mini-Kazi 40mm fan and it has a dramatic cooling effect plus it is still inaudible from my couch. GPU Temp is now 52-55C playing 1080p. Note that the Scythe does not come with any mounting screws so you'll need your own. [/EDIT 2]
