Chaintech MK8M800 motherboard Socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 2800+ 512Mb of ram Integrated -128-bit UniChrome Pro GFX 2D/3D graphics accelerator -10/100Mb Fast Ethernet -Sound card WinTV-D pci PC DVD Encore Dxr3/MPEG2 card 6X DVD rom drive 30GB HD TV = Olevia 27in LCD connect used SVGA out to TV Source: Analog Cable / Comcast in my area Installing it: easy Mythtv :setup one problem it detected my TV wrong which made fonts and the buttons on the title bar very big. ie like a low res zoom to fit on a highres screen but the rest of the screen was the right highres size. I had to use my 15 in LCD the get Mythtv setup or if I need to reboot to get things set right before I swap screen connects. zap2it part worked and the database got filled. I set about 5 shows to be recorded last night. Animi shows on cartoon net and some stuff on Comady Central... Running jobs for marking commercials and transcoding don't mess up recording of other shows, no drops in overall chip speed I mean. The most i got was 5% chip power used, that seems low. This time around I'm not using LIVETV part at all. Just for recording and playback. I think the best thing is the web interface. one more thing I can use my 15 year old laptop for lol. one thing that would be cool in the install/upgrade part.... say I wanted to add a bigger second harddrive. It would be nice if there was a option to 1. setup second drive 2. copy old /mythtv/ to the new drive 3. map new drive to /mythtv/ 4. map old space to /TV_video_dump/ area or a backup area or something useful for the system 5. update system if needed When will there be a AMD64 build? |
