Hardware: Gigabyte GA-7VAXP (via KT400 chipset), Athlon XP 2100+, 768 RAM, Asus nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128MB with composite TV-out, WD 120 GB disk.

Knoppmyth 5A30.2, auto install.

Everything worked at first boot, including remote.

Knoppmyth is a wonderful piece of software! The last time I built this box (using Jarod Wilson's How-to and Fedora core 3) it took three days of tweaking. Much thanks to the developers!

The Hauppauge gray remote, choice "16" I believe during the setup. Although I am considering switching to the ATI remote wonder, since I have one and just learned Knoppmyth has support for it.

There should be a file in /etc/X11 which is a sample xorg.conf (for 5D1 and later, XFree86.conf before this) file that is a nvidia tv out example.
Just copy the old xorg.conf to xorg.conf.old then copy the example to xorg.conf . Make sure you have the correct output setting (COMPOSITE or SVIDEO) and correct Video format (NTSC, PAL) for your area. Exit X, then the output should show up on your TV
Ensure that you have remote access to your mythbox, because you may need to get access if the display doesn't work.

Usually pretty simply. Connect the TV to the card with an appropriate cable (s-video or composite (yellow RCA phono)). Turn on the TV and make sure it's set to display the input from that connection. Boot the CD with the "tv" option, and do the install. Do not connect another monitor or you'll just confuse things. If your TV is old and hasn't got an s-video or composite input you're in adapter box land. If it's new and has an SVGA, DVI, or HDMI connector you can just hook it up as a monitor.
