Mobo Pros: Onboard TV-OUT! (with a bracket)

Didnt read the board manual before pluging in. Lost 2 days trying to figure out why my SVIDEO to COMPOSITE converter didnt work.
I just had to plug in the composite cable in the blue hole of the components (RGB) output. Works flawlessly in 720x576@60hz and 800x600@60hz.

Haven't touched the nvidia drivers. Worked out of the box.

Using R5D1, I had to update ALSA to get the sound detected:

(Adapted to my taste from this http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11218 and this http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10314 howto:

a) open a term window (i.e. Alt-x),
b) become super-user (su)
c) cd /usr/src
d) wget ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/a ... c2.tar.bz2
e) tar jxvf alsa-driver-1.0.13rc2.tar.bz2
f) cd alsa-driver-1.0.13rc2
g) ./configure
h) make
i) make install

Rebooted, and sound worked.

For under 500 bucks, I got a powerful and silent set-top box, with S-VIDEO in and out, composite/component out, 7.1 surround sound, coax in, remote control, etc. :)
