The wiki has been updated for the now much simpler (thanks Cecil) configuration of the Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T 500 card with release R5F27.

It's a digital card so picture quality primarily dictated by the bandwidth afforded to each channel by the service provider. In the UK that means a standard definition picture that is excellent for the main channels (BBC, ITV etc) and a slightly poorer for some of the other channels.

It does a good job of getting the channels, without blockiness (is that a word?), from my ancient analogue aerial once its onboard amplifier is turned on. The channel change is quite slow. I only have experience with Hauppauge cards so I can't say if it is any better or worse than competing cards.

I have not yet made an attempt at getting the remote to work. If you will need to use the remote for this card (ie you don't have another card with a remote) then I would wait until someone has posted that they have the remote working completely.
