My hardware:

Chaintec 7NIF2-2
Samsung DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive
AMD Athlon XP 2100
1 Gig Mushkin CL2 PC2100 DDR ram.
120GB western Digital IDE
30GB Maxtor IDE
Hauppauge WinTV 401 TV/FM card
Hauppauge pvr-350

And no, it's not working yet. But just by the way of a log:

My first problems were with installation. I'd get about 80% full, then the installation would freeze.

After reading the forum, Wiki, etc. I got around this by typing (ctrl)+(alt)+(F2) while the files were copying to get to a second terminal. At the second terminal I typed setterm -blank 0 to get keep the screen from going blank while the files were copying.

My second problem was that the disk wouldn't boot after installation. there were two problems: 1) the first partition wasn't set to be bootable, and 2) there was a bug in the version of Lilo that came with KnoppMyth. So, after much troubleshooting, I ran the installer again, then, before rebooting, hit the ctrl+alt+F1 combination and used fdisk to make the first partition bootable.

Then I typed this:
Code:
$ mount /dev/hda1 /mnt
cd /mnt/etc
vi lilo.conf

and edited the file to remark out this line:
Code:
part: /dev/hdb1, typ: 66

and then did this:
Code:
$ cp /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/etc/resolv.conf
$ chroot /mnt /bin/bash
$ source /etc/profile
$ apt-get update
....
$ apt-get install lilo
....
$ lilo -v
$ exit
$ umount /dev/hda1

Thank you, jfroebe and sillybaritone for your earlier posts explaining this.

I then rebooted and got into the Myth setup, and then my damn cat jumped on my keboard and kicked me out of the setup and into MythTV. I eventually found I could get out of mythTV and run mythtv-setup start the installation again.

My tuners aren't working, though, so I'm going to have to do more debugging. Using dmesg | more I was able to determine that /dev/video0 was my WinTV card. Still, I can't watch TV on it.

But it's around 3am here, so I'm calling it a night. I work on it more later.

Edit: I should also say that I'm using Knoppmyth R4V5
