Here is the new hardware:
Antec Solution SLK1650B Black Steel ATX Mini Tower Case with 350W PS
    Epox EP-9NDA3+ Nforce3-Ultra Socket 939 MoBo
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ "Venice" Core Socket 939 CPU
    Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu CPU Fan RTL
    Kingston DDRAM 256MX2 DDR400 C3 PC320 (KVR400X64C3AK2/512)
    Rosewill GF R5200-128D4 128MB AGP FX5200
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250 PCI NTSC TV Tuner Card
pcHDTV HD-3000 PCI ATSC TV Tuner Card
NEC FD1231H-302 FDD 1.44MB OEM BLK
    NEC ND-3520A DVD+/-RW 16x BLK OEM W/O SW
    2 Seagate ST3250823A HD 250GB PATA 7200 8M
Remote Pointer ACK-571 Mini Cordless Keyboard BLK (has a built in pointing device)
    CD/DVD Audio cable
SVideo & dual RCA Phono Jack audio cable
1/8" Stereo Jack to dual RCA Phono Jack adaptor
    50' Cat-5 Network cable
APC Back-UPS ES 500 (with USB cable)
Everything works with minor tweaks so I'd recommend it as " pretty easy to get working". For display I'm using an svideo connection to my NTSC TV which is an old "Panasonic CT-27SF22T1".

Here is what I had to do after the install to get it working:
    - To get X to work after removing the CD and rebooting I had to, switch to another console using Ctl-Alt-F1, login as root, run the install-nvidia-7174-debian.sh script, set up an XF86Config-4 file with HorizSync and VertRefresh as prescribed, but add the following modelines:
    Code:
    Modeline "800x600" 40.12 800 848 968 1056 600 601 605 628 #60Hz
    Modeline "640x480" 25.175 640 664 760 800 480 491 493 525 #60Hz
My TV refuses to accept any of the modelines in XF86Config-4.nvidia-tvout.sample or the builtin defaults so this step is key.

    - To get the PVR-250 recognized I had to add ivtv to /etc/modules at line 42. Otherwise it seemed to get ignored and the bttv driver was loaded for the HD3000's NTSC tuner instead.

    - Enable lircd using the post install command from the instructions
    Code:
    update-rc.d lirc defaults
however for some reason this didn't seem to work right away, even after attempts to manually start lircd. I think I had to reboot before the remote worked...

    - To stop it from waiting for keyboard input at boot time do the widely documented vga=791 to vga=normal fix.

    - Setup LVM as per the wiki to get my second drive used.

    - Run apt-get update ; apt-get install apcupsd, update /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf and /etc/default/apcupsd then configure the daemon to run from init to get UPS monitoring and control working.

    - Miscellaneous personal preference things like; installing my favorite editor, enabling webmin as per the wiki, getting any missing channel icons, changing the way mythfilldatabase is scheduled, ...

So when are you going to "feel the pain" and get an HDTV monitor? I really want to see if your setup works with 1080i! I think you're going to have a problem with the nVidia 7xxx driver (6629 is the latest that works for me) and I wonder if the AMD64 has the suds to keep up with MPEG2 at 1080i. I hope it does 'cuz I'm no fan of Intel and I hate having to tell people not to use AMD parts when my heart and soul yearns for (more of) them.

Don't know if the monitor will matter, but the CPU seems to keep up on playback (80-85% used), even with scaling from the HD resolutions to 800x600.

On the other hand I seem to have a reception problem with the crappy little indoor antenna I've been using to experiment with it. Part of this is probably because there is a medium height apartment tower (6-8 stories and topped with cell antennas just to add some noise) at the end of my block, and right in line with the broadcast towers for 90% of the local channels, not to mention several trees... So "line of sight" to the towers just isn't happening...

As a result I don't usually get a clean MPEG feed and the resulting glitches often crash or hang MythTV. When the reception conditions are right it actually looks pretty good...

Added a PVR-150 (Model 1045 - non-MCE) card today. Not much else to report. It worked absolutely flawlessly with R5A22. I did end up swapping slots with the PVR-250 so that it was still /dev/video0, and obviously when the system detected the new hardware it kicked me into mythtv-setup to add an entry for the new card, but other than that it was an absolute nonevent.

I can now recommend getting a second tuner to avoid to annoying conflicts. ;-)

Great work guys!!! :D
