Post subject:  R5A22: It (almost) worked out-of-the-box

My stuff:

nVidea FX5200-128
Two SATA drives
Knoppmyth R5A22
Hauppauge PVR-250 with non-black remote (Is it grey or silver? I picked grey)

I had only two problems:

The first was I chose to have LILO write to the root partition instead of the MBR. When I would reboot I would receive this error:
Quote:
LILO 22.6.1 Loading LinuxEDBA is big, kernel setup stack overlaps LILO second stage.
To fix this, I edited lilo.conf to boot from the MBR.

The second problem I never would have been able to fix without the help of this forum. (Thanks everyone.) After the postinstall finished everything worked fine and life was good, but then I rebooted and I received a raft of errors like: ivtv: bad option "debug" or words to that effect. "Watch TV" didn't work (blank screen, disk activity and LOTS of error messages on the console) and mythtv-setup didn't recognize /dev/video0. I edited "/etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv" and commented out the line:
Quote:
options ivtv debug=1
rebooted and now I can resume killing my brain with beer.
