I had my PVR_150 IR Blaster working great with my old STB, but I configured it so long ago that I'm trying to remember the process. I'm trying to configure it to go with my new DCT6200, but it's not working. I read somewhere that the DCT6200 takes code 85, so I changed out the codes between "begin raw_codes" and "end raw_codes" with the "85" codes from wget http://www.controlaltdeleted.com/myth/lircd.conf

Am I forgetting to do something? Here is my lircd.conf:

Code:
Yellow 0x00000000000017B8
Blue 0x00000000000017A9
end codes

I think the first thing you should do is confirm that your STB really does use code 85 by typing at the command line:

Code:
irsend SEND_ONCE blaster POWER

You also might try a newer firmware file for the 150. I had problems with mine until I did so.

It doesn't work, but everybody says that the DCT6200 responds to code 85.

Sadly, everyone might be wrong. :) I'd say go back to the full lircd.conf and the send_power_off script found at this site and come up with the code:

What would be the next step if I go through the entire send_power_new script and it never powers off the cable box? (Yes, my IR blaster is flashing red with each key power attempt and yes it is directly on the IR receiver area of the cable box.)

And it worked before, right? Oooh, just noticed that it worked with an older STB, not this new one. Hm.

All I can suggest is getting the latest PVR-150 firmware and lircd.conf from the blushing penguin site and try that. I had very inconsistent results (for instance, going through the entire script and it not powering off the cable box) until I did so.

http://www.blushingpenguin.com/mark/blog/?p=24

The other thing I noticed about the script is that it seemed sometimes to toggle the power, so if you started with it off, then went away and came back later, it was still off, but only because one of the codes worked but turned it on then back off. I think--that was some of the behavior before the firmware upgrade.

The blushing penguin instructions unfortunately broke my lirc and I can't get it back in working order. Is there any way to reset everything back to the way Knoppmyth had lirc configured?

Irsend now fails whenever I try to use send_power_new or chan_change scripts.

I can't say I'm an expert at this but I did just go through it with my STB.

When you copied the firmware to the appropriate folder, did you reboot? I think I tried the modprobe lines, but the only thing that got the new firmware working was a reboot. Maybe even a power-down for 15 minutes to "force" the old firmware out of the card.

Did you copy the new lircd.conf from blushing penguin too and replace your existing one? Remember that the blushing penguin lircd.conf has keynames that include the codeset name. That should work for send_power_new script from the same site.

Also note that in KM default install, I think the file at /etc/lircd.conf is actually a symbolic link to /etc/lircd/lircd.conf. Not sure if you need to copy the file to /etc/lircd/lircd.conf but that's what I did.

If you get that working and get your codeset, I think that a better channel change script can be found here:

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 2965#82965

All you have to do is edit the script to include your codeset, no need to remove other codesets from lircd.conf.
