Nice work. I downloaded and installed last night with no problems. Haven't played the lircrc component yet but getting the VFD working is excellent.

Howdy,
Just a tip. I use two imon-pads, one for each different frontend. The first one came with the Silverstone LC-20M case, and the next is an iMON Inside (link). I've noticed that two buttons on these remotes have different codes - the MyDVD and Menu buttons.
Instead of having two different configs floating around the fix is to simply add another line to your lircd.conf. e.g.
Code: .... AspectRatio 0x29A595 FullScreen 0x2AA395 MyDVD 0x29A295 MyDVD 0x29A395 Menu 0x2BA395 Menu 0x2BA385 Caption 0x298595 Language 0x2B8595 ....
This also allows me to use either remote on either machine.
Regards,
Kirk.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for this!!
Installed the other day with no problems, and now I can use my remote rather than a keyboard (I've been tied to the keyboard since I got my case and remote as I couldn't get it working)
The sensitivity of the pad isn't quite how I'd like (have to hold it for too long to get a response, and it's very quick to then repeat (meaning I skip too far through the menus)). But other than that, excellent!
Cheers

Play around with the repeat values in lircrc. Increasing the values slows down the speed.

Thanks guys
Worked straight away in R5E50. Because I have the Imon LCD I did not run the VFD script.
I used Kirks Lircrc and Modifed the following:
Changed 'CTRL+S' to open TV Recording Playback
and used these buttons that were commented out before
Code: begin prog = mythtv button = SelectSpace config = Return end
begin prog = mythtv button = Backspace config = Backspace end
begin prog = mythtv button = Enter config = Return end
The only key bindings I have had to add so far in the Myth FE are:
# TV Recording Playback = CTRL+S
# Play DVD = CTRL+D
# MythGallery = CTRL+G
# Play music = CTRL+T
# MythVideo = CTRL+V
# Eject = CTRL+E
Good work guys keep it coming!
Gavin

/usr/local/bin/vfd_install.sh
does not run for me because I have no devices in lsusb that match the grep iMON`"

I have a Silverstone LC16M, I have a feeling "Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0b38:0003" is it?
I've moved to KnoppMyth from Mythdora hoping I can get this working, I've been running Mythtv for about 1 year in a no HTPC case so this is all new to me.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Thanks Hmmm, looks like you have a "New and Improved" VFD. Bus 001 Device 002: ID 15c2:0036 SoundGraph Inc. is actually the VFD/IR module.
See http://www.nabble.com/lircd-not-recogni ... 24536.html which in turn points to http://codeka.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22 If you get it working PLEASE let others here know how by posting your results.
You may be able to get somewhere by changing iMON to SoundGraph in the /usr/local/bin/vfd_install.sh script and re-running, but I doubt it will work without the patch described in the above.

Yes it does look like I've got the New version *sigh* I've followed all the instructions above but its still not working I have now posted to the Codeka Forums thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Cheers

I could use some assistance testing this in the next release. I have LIRC and lcdproc patched w/ support for imon and imon pad. As I don't have the hardware, it would help if someone that did tested to ensure it works. Anyone want to help?

Sure can. I've got the iMON pad & VFD that comes with the LC-20M case, and the iMON inside (remote only) for another front end.

Hi Larry,
Nice looking case
I recently found a use for the Bookmark button - bringing up the commercial cutlist in editting mode.
Code: # bring up the cutpoints for commflagging begin prog = mythtv button = Bookmark config = Z end
Now I don't have to reach for the keyboard to do cutlists.
Regards,
Kirk.
