Hi,

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have managed to add an option that allows you to explicity specify some of the details:
--hint Title="Red"

To specify several items:
--hint Title="The Simpsons" --hint Season="3"

Once this information is in the database, it should be used for all future lookups.

I have also made some minor changes else where.
Hope this helps.

BigB.

Nothing to be sorry about, I'm always grateful that you do develop and support the script as much as you do/can. I'm just glad to hear from you and thanks for the update - unfortunately, out of my original three titles only one got solved (indeed I can now hint "the a-team" to identify correctly); The problem is, there is more than one movie with the exact title "Red", therefore hints don't help me there (hinting the year doesn't seem to be of any effect in this case), and "Megamind" simply refuses to yield any data at all despite existing both on tmdb and imdb. Strange...

Thanks again and cheers,
- Max

Hi,

Lastest REV fixes issues with "The A-Team". When i test with RED, i get correct result. The option to hint year is "--hint Year=2010". The full list of posible hints is at the start of the mythvideo-scanner script, however, some may not work as desired (esp poster files), and some may not affect the search results (Director, length etc).

Make sure you are updating all modules aswell, as some changes are in the grabber modules and not just the main script.

BigB.

Where are we supposed to be downloading the updates from? http://code.google.com/p/mythvideo-scan ... loads/list doesn't seem to be updated.

Thx.

@bigB:

I have tried updating the modules as well (do you mean the ones belonging to the mythvideo-scanner script, or the ones from MythTv on which the former ones are apparently relying on?), but nothing changed (btw, the version number of the grabbers seems to stay the same - it's a bit hard to decide what is up to date and what is not this way).

This is what I get:
Code:
/rec/videos/RED (2010)$ mythvideo-scanner.pl --update --reparse --hint Year='2010' .
Using settings for ********
Reading MythTV DB settings from: /usr/share/mythtv/mysql.txt
Mythvideo Database schema is 1016, suggests Mythtv version <= 0.21

@poflynn:

You can get the latest version from the same place, just look under "Source"->"Browse"->"Trunk"

Hi all,
I've run into a curious aspect of one of the grabbers lately: the TVDB grabber seems to pick the "Season" information from the "DVD season" field on the site. Unfortunately, that's a problem for shows that are released on DVD on a wildly different sequence then they were aired. One such example is "Pinky and the Brain".

For instance, the episode "Brain's way" is marked as S03E24 on TVDB, and also as DVD season 2 / episode 19.0. When I try scanning an episode with "S03E24" in its name, it's recognized correctly (right title, plot and pic), but it gets named "S02E24" which is just plain wrong either way, and royally messes up the sort order. Bug...?

Hi Easyrideronthestorm,

I'm running version 0.1.8 of the tmdb.pl script which picks up the 2010 version of Red without any issues. Try updating your version of the script. I also noted your version of the ttvdb.py is also a bit old.

To add to the problem, the mythtv source is now in git and has been shuffled around a bit, so i'm going to leave it up to you to work out how to update the scripts.

BigB.

Hi bigB,

Thank you, I did find the git and updated the ttvdb.py to the newest version; however, tmdb.pl does no longer exist, there's a tmdb.py instead - I don't think that would help me, would it?

Unfortunately, the 0.1.8 you mention is nowhere to be found - the SVN is no longer there, and in the git all I can find is the tmdb.pl 0.1.1 that I have (in branch 0.22) and the tmdb.py (in branch 0.23). Any ideas...?

- EasyRider

EDIT:Oh, rats. The ttvdb.py that I DID manage to update broke something - with the original version, I could hint "Dating In The Dark (AU)" to it's proper series by title but since the update I no longer can; had to roll it back for the moment... :(

Hi,

Both the python and perl scripts are supported, but only if they are in specific directories. I know it works with what ever scripts came with mythtv 0.23.

The ttvdb version that comes with 0.23 is here:
https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/tree/fixes%2F0.23/mythplugins/mythvideo/mythvideo/scripts/Television

The tmdb version that comes with 0.23 is here:
https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/tree/fixes%2F0.23/mythplugins/mythvideo/mythvideo/scripts/Movie
NOTE: you must put this script in /usr/share/mythtv/mythvideo/scripts/Movie/

Sorry, I can't really offer much more help than that.

Hi All,

Just updated to myth 0.24, and boy is mythvideo-scanner broken :-)

My plan of attach is:
Create new version of grabber wrappers to support new output format of mythtv grabbers (clear as mud?).
Fix the built in imdb grabber.
Check that the rage tv graber still works.
Might even create a new release.
Might start a new thread in the linhes section

Sit tight...

Hi all,

I've done as much as i am going to do for a while. Most of it is working with 0.24. I have also fixed the inbuilt indb grabber.

Enjoy.

BigB.
