Which one should I get? I've heard that getting the 350 working is a pain, is that true? also, how much better is the 350 than the 250 and why if at all.. thanks for any info you can give. I hear that the tv-out looks good on the 350 and better than it would on the geforce 440... is it worth it to get the 350 working and then not have to buy a seperate 440? thanks for any info you can give...

If you will only use the card for live TV, then either will do and either is just as easy to setup. The 350 will allow for TV-out which is a challenge to setup. So in that respect the 350 is harder to setup. Another benefit of the 350 is FM radio support, but at the moment there is no software in MythTV using this feature. I'm not even sure if the FM radio tuner is supported in Linux at all.
I bought myself a 350 hoping FM radio support will be added for the 350 in Linux and MythTV somewhere in the future. Maybe I'll try the TV-out of the 350 some time as well.

How does the quality of the tv-out on the 350 compare to the Geforce 440mx? Are they relatively the same or would you notice a substantial increase in quality if you spent the time to get the 350's tv-out working?

I noticed a big difference in quality when I switch to the 350. Everyone says it's hard to set up, it really isn't if you follow the directions on the IVTV site. There are downsides though, like trying to watch Divx files, it is very slow when going through the 350. I don't know if there is a fix yet or if there ever will be.

by slow what do you mean? slow to access it, or slow to play and choppy?

It's choppy, like 1 frame per second. Well at least that has been my experience and I have read something about it on this message board. If I remember correctly it has something to do with mplayer.

It has nothing to do with MPlayer, rather it has to do with th fact that the 350 isn't a regular video card. There is a patch of MPlayer floating aroung that improves performance with the 350's TV out but it still isn't perfect.

Okay I must have misread the explanation for the poor performance. Does anyone know where I can find this patch? I would like to try it.
