Hello running RB57 on seperate frontend only install (followed wiki and shutdown Mysql and mythbackend).

The problem I have is that the frontend wont keep the correct time. The backend is fine.

I have gone in and done tzsetup and date --set , to correct. However it does not work. I thought that RB57 had the NTP server enabled.

Do i need to run NTP server. Can I do that with mythbackend shud down.

NTP should simply work... Please post specific details/error messages if it isn't.

I agree. I have an odd problem with this motherboard that the bios clock does not stay set for some reason.

If NTP is setup correctly can it override the system clock.

so I see log errors in /var/log/messages

set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 0 to 59

Doing a google it appears that NTP is working but for some reason my CMOS clock is screwed up. I guess I need to figure out how to let myth know to update it.

Here is the google info.

on my console. It appears that the kernel is attempting to update my CMOS
clock for me, based on the more accurate data being provided by my xntpd.

According to the notes in the code, this should work if my RTC is less than
15 minutes off... which I can guarantee it is. Accoring to hwclock, it's
less than a second off.
