Ok. I'm pretty much a complete linux noob. I just have a quick question and have done some searching but can't find my answer. I found this post that said

Quote:
su
/etc/init.d/samba start

However, if you want to avoid doing this each time you restart your MythTV box, do the following to set samba to start up automatically (as su):

update-rc.d samba defaults

go to your XP box and open Explorer
Tools/Map Network Drive
enter \\mythboxname\myth
login mythtv
pswd mythtv

And that totally makes sense and I can do that no problem. The question I have is how do you find out your 'mythboxname'? Is there a cmd I can run that will display that stuff. Thanks in advance.

PS. For bonus points how do you find out what 'Workgroup' your mythbox is in?

It really should be \\ip.of.myth.box\myth, unless you have the name in "/etc/hosts" on Windows. The default workgroup is KnoppMyth.

OK No prob.

What is the command for displaying IP again? And this is my local IP right? So it will probably be something like 192.168.0.103 or something similar correct?
