I do live outside the USA, so I will have a look for that.

I also just tried it in my XP box, which is also a Compaq EVO with, I believe, the same DVD drive.

What I noticed is that the disc is an enhanced disc, which is to say it popped up an installer and has some windows crap on it. I wonder if this also tripped up the system?

Off to search...

I seriously doubt that. Linux should just ignore this extraneous stuff.
