I just went and upgraded to the new hard drive on my R5C7 . I used the wiki for how to upgrade the hard drive with LVM. Everything went smooth and I now have more space but when i try to watch tv or watch prerecorded stuff there is no sound now. This sucks. Can somebody help me figure this out . It worked fine before. Please help. Thank you

More hardware information might help.

This also sounds vaguely familiar so a search of the forums requiring both "lvm" and "sound" or "audio" might turn up more information...

You added new hardware (the new drive), and loaded new driver modules, leading to any number of possible interactions. For example you may be sharing an interupt between the new drive and something else now...

You can explore this possibility using "lspci -v" and "cat /proc/interrupts"

I also strongly urge you to do the search I suggested, since it could turn up a simple answer that would save you days or weeks of frustration.

I tried the search that you sugested but with no luck as of yet. Here is what i got when doing lspci -v for my sound card

0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio (rev 05)
Subsystem: Dell: Unknown device 0115
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 18
I/O ports at e800 [size=256]
I/O ports at ef00 [size=64]

Should I try and reconfigure the sound card somehow ? THank you for the help
