Please help! I can no longer fast-forward, rewind, or edit.

Symptoms:

pressing cursor-right (to skip forward), or cursor-left (to skip back) jump to somewhere close to the beginning of the recording. The time-bar seems to move by about the right amount, but after the operation, the time-bar no longer matches the actual place in the stream. Eventually, the time bar reaches the end and just stays there, but I'm still watching the recorded program.

Fast-forward, rewind, jump forward, and jump back seem to be similarly flawed.

Pressing 'E' which previously allowed me to enter edit mode to move back or forth through the stream, appears to do nothing at all.

Anybody have any idea what is happening here?

For info, I am using R5C7 and recently had to delete /var/log/mysql/mysql.log after it filled my root partition. It's possible that it had been full for some time before I noticed it. The fast-forward/rewind were working fine prior to this problem. Recordings made prior to the disk full accident are also affected by this problem.

This is my first post, but I have searched the forum and haven't found the answer.

The symptoms sound like your DB got damaged when you ran out of space.

I did try the myisamchk command, and it showed everything was ok. I just read the other thread you pointed me at, and I see the "mythcommflag --rebuild --all" to fix seek tables.

I'll try that now.

mythcommflag --rebuild --all crashed my backend the first time, and took a long time to run the second, but eventually it fixed my problem.
