I was thinking it would be nice to have a plug-in that gave you a customized sports ticker complete with your favorites teams and leagues. I would want it to run at the bottom of the screen during your regular video showing. So it would potentially be on top of the ESPN bottomline ticker if you were tuned to ESPN. I have three questions about it:

1. Is anyone working on something similar? (I couldn't find anything)

2. Most plug-ins take up a complete screen. Ie. Weather plug-in does not pop up severe weather alerts while you are watching a program. So there is no overlay. Is overlay possible with a plug-in?

3. Are there any legal ramifications? It seems like ESPN would get a little ticked about a product that modified the intended presentation to the user.

If you wanted to play, you could probably rig up something with mythtvosd to put a scroller on the screen. Search the forum for it. Someone had a script to put the date/time and CPU temp on the screen, and maybe callerID stuff too. Give it a try.
