I recently upgraded my home theater to HDTV. I got a 50" Samsung DLP that supports 1080p.

The TV supports both Component and HDMI. It also supports DVI via DVI-to-HDMI converter cables. It also supports VGA.

My old setup consisted of running my Mythbox to my TV via S-video. I'm trying to figure out whats the best way to go about hooking the box up the HDTV.

I know that the TV does not support analog DVI. So that leaves going component via some conversion method, or going with VGA.

MSI makes an HDTV video card with HDMI output. I was considering going with this card, but not sure if it will require special drivers to output through HDMI.

Anybody got any recommendations?[/url]

Analog DVI is VGA. All you need is a little adapter from the DVI port to a D-sub 15 connector.

Are you sure that card has HDMI output? I don't see where it says that. You can use a DVI to HDMI cable though.

That card has 2 dvi ports, it is quite easy to convert from DVI to HDMI though since they are identical formats.

Sorry folks, I posted the wrong card. The MSI card with HDMI is here:

Its got a small hole in the backplate that allows for running audio in from the sound card. I think it also supports runnin audio in on a port on the board itself, though not sure.

It would be a lot simpler to just get any card with DVI out and use an adapter.
