Just tried an clean build of R5E50 and dvbscan and all associated directories seem to have disappeared. As the built in scan fails to find any channels as in previous versions this is a big problem.

Is it practical to copy over the dvb directory from R5D1, or will I have to build R5D1 and do an upgrade?

(Nothing to complicated please, I am linux noob  )

Supossedly, certain DVB cards need to be set for an extra delay value, in the "Capture Card" setup for your card, it is in one of the extra dialogs for the card settings.
The Setting is "DVB Tuning Delay (msec)" and defaults 0, I set this 50, and a later channel scan picked up all the local muxes, including a couple from a more distant transmitter which I was able to delete in the Transport Editor.

Bruce,
sounds promising, set it to 100, and set to full scan in United Kingdom but still no joy. Maybe my tuner card is too ancient (although with dvbscan it would find everything OK).

Apparently there appears to be a general purpose scan command which applies to DVB and ATSC, there a thread here.
I would suppose that the command line would be:
Code:
cd /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/

 scan scan/dvb-t/uk-your-local-transmitter > channels.conf
