Sorry to jump into an old thread again here.....

I've had to put this on hold for a while and am just sitting down to look at it again. My coding skills are not humungous, so I could be missing something that's obvious to others, but isn't obvious to me.

It seems the myth2ipod scripts that we were working off of here use the commlist to determine what sections to remove from the final file. I find that my commflagging isn't as accurate as I'd like, and would rather use the cutlist. I generally sit down, load the commlist up, and adjust the points. But when I dump to Xvid find that my output matches what MythTV originally flagged as commercials, not my corrected version.

Is there a way to make this script read the cutlist rather than the commlist? Or is there a way to save the cutlist to the commlist? Or am I mistaken and is this already working properly from cutlist and somehow I've botched something else and am not seeing what I think I'm seeing?

It should always use the cutlist with no flag, the commlist with the -cutlist flag.

Just an update touching back to the beginning of the thread. I picked up one of the Archos 604's. Great little machine. If you buy the cinema plug-in, it plays the knoppmyth recordings just the way they come. You can still transcode them and make them smaller if you want. But if you just want a quick and dirty transfer, it will take it and play it.

In as much as I like simple, the Archos is a great choice. The large screen is a plus as well.

If you wish to use it with the ipod add-ins of myth there is also a second plug-in to handle the apple h264 style files as well. So it wins that way as well.
