Post subject:  Despite days of trying, Still no Schedules Direct data

Running R5F27 with all updates of course :)

I've read through all the posts I can find. It sounds like there are a lot of people with similar issues.

Running:
mythfilldatabase -v all | tee r0.txt

And reading through the TONS of data in r0.txt, I am clearly getting good data from Schedules Direct. However, there is no data in my schedules :(

I have one tuner, and one lineup on SD.
I can retrieve the lineup just fine, but mythfilldatabase does not :(

Here's my question:

After completing a full cable scan of my tuner, MythTV reports finding many channels, but they are named strange:

4-1
5-1
9-1
79#0
79#8
80#0

etc....

When viewed directly through my TV, they are named the same thing. SD names the channels:

4
5
6
11
79
80

etc.

Could this be my issue? I tried to "map" my channels to what SD calls them in http://<mythtv>/mythweb/settings/channels, but that didn't work.

If this is my issue, how do I properly map the channels?

What kind of tuner are you using?

Do you have an HD tuner, and are you trying to tune unencrypted QAM channels or are you tuning over-the-air?

If the channels don't have the correct xmltv ids listed, they won't sync up with the schedule. When watching live tv, press e and see if there are xmltv ids associated with the channels. There are some posts here on how to fix it if thats the case. Do a search for xmltv and qam256.

Thanks for the replies!

I have a HD5000 tuner card, and I'm scanning my channels with QAM256.

It was this post that gave me the hint:

I finally figured this out. Here are the steps:

Get your XMLids from your Schedules Direct account.
Sit down in front of the MythTV machine and watch live tv.
Start at the beginning of your channels, and hit `e` for each channel you know the ID for. Enter the XMLid associated with each channel.

Re-run mythfilldatabase. Presto!

Now, when the digital cable box arrives on Saturday, everything will change again!

Thanks for the support again!

For reference, you can also input the XMLids via mythtv-setup in the channel editor, you can also do it via MythWeb.
