Could DMA be disabled on the hard drive? I had a similar issue with my machine until I enabled DMA.

It's enabled by default in R5F27 and I didn't turn it off.

Ed,

Try adding these 2 lines to your xorg.conf :

Code:
Section "Monitor"
Option "NvAGP" "1"
Option "RenderAccel" "False"

I've been at this for the last few hours(a lil sick today and home alone) and finally got it working on my system. I updated to the latest and greatest Nvidia drivers and that did NOT make any difference.

I also tried Option "NvAGP" "2" but that didn't help.

Hope this gets you going.

Rich

I just thought of something....my video card is not AGP...it's PCI-E. I'm assuming that means I can't use NvAGP.
