I am using the silver dog bone remote (A415-HPG). When I was running R5D1 once I made the selection I just hit OK and it started to play.

I did a fresh install to R5F27 and moved my original lircrc file. I can make the selection in the menu but I can't find a button that will make it play. What do I need to do to get this to work?

You might need to move your original lircd.conf over also.

Also, I believe R5F27 uses the internal DVD player by default where R5D1 used Xine. So you could try setting it back to Xine in the DVD player settings (and if you do you may need to move /home/mythtv/.xine/keymap from the original install).

tatuirovka,

I will do a diff on the lircd.conf files and see if there were any changes there. It looks like Xine is the default player in R5E27.

I'll have to check what was being used in R5D1, it might have been MPlayer and that might explain the difference.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Tim

Did a diff on the lircd.conf file and they are the same, and also tried my old /home/mythtv/.xine/keymap with no luck.

The only other thing I know that is different is a newer version of pineapple. It does get to the menu page fine. Now if I could only figure out how to make it play!

See my Understanding LIRC configuration posting which includes a more fully populated lircrc file with appropriate button definitions for both mplayer and xine.
