I am suffering from frequent frontend lockups following an upgrade to R5F27. It is quite repeatable as follows:

Watch live TV.
Select Program Guide- No program guide appears.
Try to exit from live TV - Result = blank screen.

/var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log shows:
Code:
2007-10-30 22:03:36.688 VideoOutputXv: XvMCTex: Init failed
2007-10-30 22:03:36.688 VideoOutputXv: XVideo Adaptor Name: 'NV17 Video Texture'
X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
  Major opcode:  142
  Minor opcode:  14
  Resource id:  0x177
2007-10-30 22:03:37.057 The realtime priority setting is not enabled.
2007-10-30 22:03:37.058 TV: Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
2007-10-30 22:03:37.165 Video timing method: RTC
QGLContext::makeCurrent(): Failed.
2007-10-30 22:03:42.432 XMLParse::LoadTheme using /usr/share/mythtv/themes/blootube/ui.xml
QGLContext::makeCurrent(): Failed.
X Error: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied) 10
  Major opcode:  129
  Minor opcode:  5
  Resource id:  0x800007

Any help would be appreciated.

Algenon.

Anyone?

This bug is repeatable, with a bit of guidance I could track it down.

I don't have any guidance to add, but I can say that I have seen the problem too. I basically always go out to the main menu and then manage Recordings->Schedule Recordings->Program Guide to get to the guide. Going via this route, there is no problem. It is only when you bring up the guide while watching TV (or a recording).

Yes, that is a good work round, but I do find the on-screen programme guide useful, and so does my wife. I'll probably have to disable to key on the remote to stop her using it and locking the system up until a fix can be found.
