I have successfully installed TF on a KM system before. This installation was not smooth.

I created the torrentflux directory and unzipped it in the new directory:
Code:
mkdir /myth/torrentflux
tar zxvf torrentflux_2.3.tar.gz

I copied the contents of the html directory into torrentflux using my windows machine and Samba.

Followed the tf instructions:
Code:
mysqladmin create torrentflux
mysql torrentflux < mysql_torrentflux.sql

Then I opened up the permissions and created the link:
Code:
cd /myth
chmod 777 torrentflux -R
ln -s /myth/torrentflux /var/www/tf
ln -s /myth/torrentflux/html /var/www/tf

I copied the contents of the html directory into the torrentflux directory so I am hoping that having both links are not problematic. I wish I knew how to remove the latter link and verify that it was removed.

I point my browser to http://192.168.2.20/tf and returns:
Code:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /tf/logon.php on this server
Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) PHP/4.4.4-8 Server at 192.168.2.20 Port 80

I rebooted the machine and still have the same error.

Part of me hopes that this is a simple oversight on my part that calls for a DOOOOh! Does this information provide enough insight to diagnose the problem?

You can also save yourself a little time and effort and just use the simple install script on the link bellow to install torrentflux, it also does pineapple and the latest xine :D

http://www.mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14399&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=torrentflux&start=0

If you want to download into a specific directory say videos in the /myth video directory and mp3s in the /myth/music directory you could just create 2 users one callled video and one called music then symlink them to the myth directories.

Code:
Load torrentflux using the script

create a directory for your torrents

mkdir /myth/torrents
chmod 777 /myth/torrents
mkdir /myth/torrents/video
chmod 777 /myth/torrents/video
mkdir /myth/torrents/music
chmod 777 /myth/torrents/music

now run torrentflux and in admin set the torrent directory as
/myth/torrents/
create 2 new users as audio and video

then
cd /myth/music
ln -s /myth/torents/music downloads
cd /myth/video
ln -s /myth/torents/video /myth/video/downloads

this will give you a directory in your music and video directory containing your downloads called downloads

you just need to log in as music to download your audio stuff or video to download your video stuff and they'll be put in the correct directories. Of course this wont stop the girlfriend trying to play them when there half downloaded and complainig there not working.

The other alternative would be to make the /myth/ directory as your torrents directory then create users as above this would place the files directly into those folders (but i wouldnt try it this way you could definitely end up with some problems)
