I got it working beautifully.

I went to zsnes's website and downloaded the most recent stable tarball and installed it (it should by default install with opengl support).

run zsnes from a terminal window and select the resolution you want.
It will most likely be 800x600 ogl FS.
Save your settings and exit.

in mythgame setup change the command to '/usr/bin/X11/xterm -e zsnes'
that should do it. (at least it works for me).

xterm -e launches the program following it, and when that program is ended, the xterm closes too, so it works seamlessly.

I've used the above tip and it works great. The problem I'm having is that I can't exit the emulator using my defined Exit button. This button works fine within th enormal Myth gui, but stops working when the emulator starts.

I'm using lirc with a homebrew ir receiver. I am also using irxevent.

Shouldn't the Exit button presses be converted and sent as Escape presses to the xterm window Zsnes is running in? I guess I'm making the assumption that the xterm is considered the current window. Is there a way to force this?

Anything is achievable in the computer world, I know somebody has to have figure this out... Can somebody post a definite answer to this for the love of GOD!!!!

1. Quit mythtv
2. open terminal
3. type: zsnes
4. setup controller and set to full screen under options
5. quit zsnes
6. start mythtv
