Hey guys,

KnoppMyth has installed perfectly on my Test PC. It sucessfully detected my bt878 tuner card. Now I have a question. When my card was in my windows PC, I could plug my the cable from my cable tv into my tuner card. All the pay per view channels were encrypted, but the free to air (broadcast) stuff was there, just on different frequencies. Unfortunately we have really bad reception here so cable is the only way my myth connection will be able to tune in anything.

How would I go about adding the channels to MythTV? Is there some way to make it 'scan' like the shitty windows software would? Or do I need to get the frequencies somehow and add them to Myth?

Has anyone from New Zealand got their Myth setup working with Saturn?

You need to read the MythTV docs. Hopfully one of the users in New Zealand with chime in and tell you have source maybe best...

Koz, you need to exit MythTV and start a shell. Then use the scantv command to scan for the channel frequencies. Look up the scantv options - you use it to create an xawtv file which you subsequently read with mythfilldatabase to create the channels in Myth. You can then download your xmltv program guide data from here:
