My how far KM has come! I remember with some fondness the first time I tried to do HDTV on my shiny KnoppMyth box. It was easier than starting with Myth, but it still took weeks before it was working well.

Now, it's just plug in the CD, push "auto upgrade", and presto. This is so easy it's ridiculous! The only thing I had to do was select "ALSA:spdif" as my sound output and use alsamixer to turn on the back-panel optical connector. Oh yes, there was the issue with the tropical fruit library, but since I live in the Land of the Free(tm) (i.e. the United States), we can't talk about that.

My system:

-- abit AN-M2 motherboard w/AMD64 X2 4800+ processor
-- 2G memory (probably overkill but the box runs REAL smooth)
-- 1-400G PATA disk, 2-750G SATA disks arranged as /, /myth/tv, and /myth/video
-- 2-pcHDTV 3000 recorders, 1-HD Homerun
-- VGA output to Pioneer PRO-510HD 58-in RPTV (classic 3-crt model)
-- 1-DVD-RW drive

Thanks cesman!! :D :D :D

P.S. I shoulda got the AN-M2HD board. It has a slightly different onboard graphics chip. The only difference is that the one I got won't handle XvMC while the "HD" version will. I plan to rectify the problem soon...
