i asked myself somequstions about knoppmythtv and i got some ideas. so i think i'll aks here if there is already a solution for this things.

1. is it possible to listen to internet radio streams

2. is it possible to view internet video streams

3. is it possible to use a bluetooth headset over a bluetooth adapter to call by VoIP using the official protocol over the net and making it possible to call a number of a conventional telephone network by using some provider who provides this service

4. is it possible to scan dvb-channels and is it in the current version easier to use dvb cards and analog cards at the same time?

5. is it possile to switch the light by knoppmyth ? =o) are there already bluetooth power sockets out there that could be controlled ? =o)

ok, enough i thought it would be great if the knoppmythtv pc can controll the whole multimedia in my house

on which mythtv does knoppmyth base ?

3) as you already stated mythphone, however I do not think it supports bluetooth headseat, and I don't think you can connect to land line.

5) I don't think so the most common technology used for this right now is called X.10 and I don't think there is a mythtv plugin for this, however there are some linux based programs to control X10 devices. And I have not heard of any bluetooth devices to do this sort of thing.


knoppmyth R4V5 is based on mythtv 0.16, however the mythbrowser and mythphone plugins are not included for technical reasons they should be in the next major version of knoppmyth.

Do you know skype (www.skype.com) ? i would like to use it in my myth-pc.
is there a documentation howto code or add new plugins to myth like mythphone, mythweather, mythtv, mythgames, ... ?

is a tutorial out there ?

I don't know that you would have much luck using skype as it is a closed source program, not that closed source is bad, but it has it's own interface, and I don't think you would have much luck fitting it in with the mythtv interface without the source.

having said that you can use it on the box, just not in the mythtv interface. and I do not know of any tutorials on building mythtv plugins, but that does not mean they do not exist. you might post this question over on the mythtv development mailing list.
