I'm interested in starting up a mythtv box, but I am interested in using a USB device. I'm thinking about Hauppauge's WinTV PVR. The problem is I have two computers, one I want to make a PVR, the other I want to encode all my video's and do some editing. I don't want to have to buy two cards, nor do I want to have to move a card between each machine. I'd rarely want to watch TV while I'm editing video, so a device that I can move from place to place sounds pretty much perfect to me.

I don't see any success/failure stories on any of the USB devices. Anyone have thoughts?

No, a USB PVR will not work. If it did, you would not have to move it from computer to computer just to edit the video. The PVR 2/350 output straight MPEG2 so any software can edit MPEG2 should do... Just copy the files from your MythTV boxen to your ''edit' boxen.
