real basic linux question, so should get a quick responce

Just aboiut got used to using vi, but the version in R5A10 is diffrent, responds diffrently to keystrokes and doesnt seem to colour code the text, or display the line number you are on..

Which version do I need to install to get back to the R4 version, or is it a config thing ?

Funny, didnt think I would ever be installing vi :-)

It says it is a 15M package ! is that why its not in the new release ?

well the installed version is vi. that's the version you will find on just about any unixlike OS you ever use. the version you are used to is vim vi(improved) it definitely has some niceties, but it's always good to know how to use good ol vi in a pinch.
