Setup

Chaintech nif2 board
pvr250 (Haven't installed Yet)
BT878 card
sempron 2300
512 ram
samsung dvd
160 gb h drive

r5A15

I have been searching the forums for my sound problem
1 sound does not stop when exiting myth tv
2 sound ahead of video

After reading the forums I realize that the sound sync is caused by the buffering and tried this fix

$ amixer set Master,0 100%,100% unmute
$ amixer set PCM,0 100%,100% unmute
$ amixer set Line,0 75%,75% mute captur
$ amixer set Capture,0 100%,100% captur
$ su
# alsactl store
# exit
$

No sound now!! But hey I am using the cd input on the motherboard for my sound so I need to set that for the capture device change line to CD.....No such device error :( tried alsamixer set cd in there to capture....
Still no sound.

I am assuming both problems are related any help would be appreciated.

I will continue to search but am getting frustrated so I thought I would risk being flamed for not looking enough. :)

Thanks

You apt to get flamed for posting another problem under the same thread. You need to symlink /dev/hdb to /dev/cdrom and /dev/dvd (The next release will take care of CD-ROM drives that are not on /dev/hdb...). More info is on the forum.
