Hi All

I have a Shuttle SK83G which has VIA K8M800 chipset which is not supported by the Unichrome build in Knoppmyth R5A15. Apparantly the snapshot version of Unichrome driver does support this, but being a newbie I am tearing my hair out trying to get the thing to build.

I can't even get Xfree86 to rebuild which I think is part of the process. Can anyone shed any light on this? I really want to get the TV out working as right now it's not and is rendering my box little more than just that, a box. At the moment the only way it does anything is using the VESA driver.

Failing that can anyone recommend a cheap, good, well supported AGP TV-out graphics card that I can use instead?

I'd suggest seeking help on the Unichrome mailing list. I'd also suggest giving details. You gave no details here so if it was something obvious we don't know.
You must have left for some valid reason. Why go back? Or do you thinking stating this is going to get someone to help you?

Yeah to be honest there is a little emotional blackmail but the truth is that I really do need to get something working to make use of all this hardware I've shelled out on.

I've spent solid days of building, compiling and getting to grips with Linux which although has been generally a useful experience it's not been my primary goal.

I ask for help here rather than the Unichrome list because everything I've come across there has been way over my head and here people seem to be a bit more newbie-friendly.

I don't really have any useful info; the whole thing is a bit new to me but if anyone has any positive experiences of getting similar hardware to work then I'd like to know if only to recharge my optimism

While I am looking to move to snapshots of DRM, it won't be for several weeks. Again, I suggest you take this to the Unichrome mailing list. If X won't compile, I'm certain you are getting errors. What are those errors? It is things that that you need to state.
