Hi , I have a chaintech 7nif2 and Just bought a PVR250 . I had RA12 working with a lifeview flyvideo LP card. Then got rid of that card and replaced it with the pvr 250 , then I ran mythbackup and upgraded to RA15. The upgrade went fine and the database was still intact. I installed the nividia drivers using the install-debian-nvidia*.sh script, of course. At first my pvr 250 didn't at all work then I looked at the dmesg and notice that it did not like two lines in /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv so I commented them out and reload the module . so it looks like this now.
cat /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
#options ivtv debug=1
#options tuner type=2
options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
install ivtv /sbin/modprobe tuner; /sbin/modprobe msp3400; /sbin/modprobe saa7115; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv
remove ivtv /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove ivtv && /sbin/modprobe -r saa7115 && /sbin/modprobe -r msp3400 && /sbin/modprobe -r tuner
When I run live tv from the frontend the picture freezes within one second.
If cat /dev/video >test.mpg - I get a nice video for how everlong I cat.
There is nothing in the myth logs or messages.
Any Ideas?
P.S dmesg looks like this.

Have you...
- Checked your /cache partition to make sure it's mounted, looks healthy, and has space? (Hint - It should be effectively empty if you're not watching something.)
- For that matter check ALL of your partitions...
- Check all the recently modified files in the directories /var/log, /var/log/mythtv, /var/log/mysql, and the file /home/mythtv/.xsession-errors? (Hint - use ls -altr on the directories)
- Tried starting mythfrontend from an xterm with maximum logging enabled?
Code: root@black:~# mythfrontend --help Valid options are: -display X-server Create GUI on X-server, not localhost -geometry or --geometry WxH Override window size settings --geometry WxH+X+Y Override window size and position -l or --logfile filename Writes STDERR and STDOUT messages to filename -v or --verbose debug-level Prints more information Accepts any combination (separated by comma) of all, none, quiet, record, playback, channel, osd, file, schedule, network, commflag, audio, libav --version Version information <plugin> Initialize and run this plugin

When I upgraded the last time, my live tv directory was set to something like /var/... instead of the proper /cache directory. I believe cesman said something like it was the result of an incomplete upgrade. I don't know if this is your problem, but when that happened to me, live tv would crash after 1 second. Check your mythtv-setup

Yeah, I just checked and all the directories for storing media were messed up. I set the LiveTV buffer to /cache/cache and the rest to what they should be.
Unfortunately, Live TV is still having the same problem.
I did find something odd in the Backend Status. It shows staus for two tuners(I only have one installed). It says that Tuner1 is unavailable and Tuner2 is not recording. Any ideas?

Well I killed two birds with one stone. tjc suggested I run the setup program again and answer yes to both purge questions(he was helping me on a different thread with a different problem). That fixed it for me.
Here is exactly what fixed it in the end:
Code: #/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop #mythtv-setup
Clear the capture card settings and the channel settings. Reconfigure the backend settings. Exit setup. Code: #/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start #mythfilldatabase
Start the frontend and enjoy.
It may have all been related to the fact that the directories were messed up after upgrading (/var/lib... problem). I fixed all of paths, then this must have pulled it all back together.
