I have R12 up and working but need to configure two non standard channels. I have tried to use the channel editor to add them but I do not seem to be doing something correctly.

I have two channels that are not brodcast, but are combined with my normal over the air channels using a digital modulator. I have #20 that is the output of my TIVO and #17 that is the output from my security system. I would like to be able to record from either.

Is there a way to do this ???

I started looking at the channels that were available in the Zap2it database and found some that we do not receive here in our area unless we lived on top of a tall hill. So I added channel 38 and am now using this as a dummy to manually put either of my UHF video sources onto and enable recording.

This is a workaround that has problems so if someone knows how to put nonstandard channels in that would show up so you could tune in and manually record it would be nice.

Well It looks like I am finding my own solutions?? Well for you that might try the same thing I found a neat way to record something on a channel and allow you to rename and decide when and how long to record.

It's all built into Mythweb and seems to work great. It took a moment to figure out the time lag when starting the source up on the TIVO but it works.

On the top of the MythTV bar is an option to "Manually Schedule" with all the options needed inculding start, duration, & name.

manual schedule is also available from the mythtv interface. I never responded, because the part I didn't know how to do was get a working channel that wasn't part of a zap2it feed into the database.
