Just an FYI for anyone with an ATI Remote Wonder...

keycodes are totally different in R5A15.1.

If you have created custom .xmodmap files, they will need to be recreated with the new keycodes in order to work in the new version.

Also, the channel up/down buttons on the remote are no longer detected... xev doesn't register any keypress, so you have to map other keys (up/down?) for channel surfing.

I'm seeing the same problem. Since this is occurring in xev, I assume its not specific to Knopp. Any ideas on a solution?

This is actually a problem in the 2.6 kernel, not sure at what point the issue started, but I know it didn't work on my 2.6.8 debian install either.

Can't be of much more help, I switched over to the pvr 250 remote, and am using that instead now, remote wonder went back to the windows pc in the mean time.

Please see this link for a good work-around. It works for me. https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora- ... 08002.html

I haven't had any luck using xmodmap, so this is what I did. I

Disclaimer: These were the steps I followed, everything appears to working afterwards however I haven't picked up a tuner card yet so it is possible I broke a TV feature. Its may also turn out that I've been lucky and this could take your box down in flames

I make no claims to the source, I found it posted in this thread @ http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/m ... ers/101017
The source appeared to be the normal ati_remote.c modified to limit repeat keypresses. The only changes I've made are key binding, and reformatting (the forum buggered it up.)

1) Download & unzip ati_remote.zip (Sorry about Geocities, no where else to host it :/ ).

2) Place ati_remote.c (back up the original) in the following directory:
/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.11.7-chw-4/drivers/usb/input/

3) Change to root source directory:
cd /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.11.7-chw-4/

4) Recompile the modules (I haven't found a way to recompile only ati_remote.c):
make modules

5) If there weren't any errors in step-4 install the module with:
make modules_install

6) remove the .o files from source tree.
make clean

I had to re-install the nvidia drivers after following these steps YMMV.

Edit: You probably still need to add the ATI Remote stuff to /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Looks like that may have been an older ati_remote.c, so I've added their code to the one found in the source directory.

You'll probably want to create an input.conf file in /home/mythtv/.mplayer/

Mine (which I also added to the zip) contains this:

[ volume -1
] volume +1
\ mute
, speed_incr -0.1
. speed_incr +0.1
s speed_set 1.0

I'll assume the first three are obvious, the next 3 are Rewind, Fastforward & Stop (which resets to normal playing speed).
