I have several recordings from tv that I would like to transcode to mpg4. Using the menus in mythtv, I go to that show and tell it to begin transcoding.

For many shows, it seems to work fine, but i have several that just will not transcode (I can view them on the tv just fine). I found in the forums that I can use nuvexport from the command line to do this, but how do I figure out which of the .nuv files is the one I want when they're names do not correspond to the show name?

you don't have to know the nuv filename when using nuvexport, it gives you a list of show names.

Sorry for my late reply, been working far too much.

Is there documentation anywhere that details the use of nuvexport then so I can learn more about the options?

documentation?!?! we don't need no stinking documentation!!! LOL

and to actually answer the question no not that I know of which isn't such a bad thing since the menu interface is very self explanatory, though the fact that there is very little documentation for the command line switches and they seem to continuously change has been somewhat of an aggravation for some.
