Hi,

I am planning on building a mythtv box and have decided to buy a Hauppuage pvr 250 card. I will be connecting my sky box along with a standard aerial to the card and would like to know if it is possible to watch the live feed comming from the areial while the card is recording the feed comming in from the sky box (and vice versa) or will I need 2 cards to do this. The backend server will be a amd 2700 with 1gb ram.

One capture card (i.e. one 250) means one feed can be captured at a time. that SINGLE feed can either be wthced live or recorded.

You can watch a previously recorded program while the 250 is recording.

Funny, I added a second 250 two weeks ago. Wife gave me the 'how much did that cost' look. Then last night she wanted to watch LiveTV only to get the 'all inputs are busy' dialog. I showed her that both 250's were recording shows she has scheduled. Then gave her the 'should I buy a third' look

Thanks for the reply, looks like I best invest in a pvr 500 as well then, man this is an expensive peice of kit to set up

also while it may be strictly possible to connect a stb and arial to one card I would not do it as you are going to cause yourself massive headaches in the configuration.
