Hi!

I manged to setup channels and everything with mythtv, but the picture "quality" of my LiveTV is horrible! It's almost bright white, only sometimes you can see what's actually going on. Sound is fine, so channels are tuned. I read about the luma bug on BT8x8 chips (I do have an old WinTV with an 878 I think) and suggestions using the "adjust" filter in MythTV. This doesn't help though. Brightness/Contrast etc. are on default levels. I tried lowering them, but it's hard to check the results having to go through the menus. The result was a black picture instead of the white one.
Using tvtime I can get a somewhat watchable picture, but everything is too bright too. Oh, and I have to reboot after using Myth's LiveTV to use tvtime. Is this normal?
Is there a problem with my card or is it a software issue? Any hints?

Thanks!
Steve

OK, either the card itself was faulty or the connector. So it was no software problem. It's working with another card now!

PS: Can I achieve similiar TV picture quality with the built in TV program like in tvtime? Quality using tvtime is a lot better!

Perhaps a search of the forum? We've had the newbie "how to improve picture quality" conversation at least 2-3 times in the past week....

Sorry for asking too quickly..
I didn't really get that MythTV uses the LiveTV Recording Profile to actually show the live TV! I changed the resolution to 720x576 (PAL) and used denoise3d filter, now it's good.
