If any of you guys have a Via Epia MII motherboard you might well have experienced the DMA-related lockup issue. Via have released a test BIOS that is meant to solve this problem. I'm sure they'd been keen to hear from you if you have been experiencing the problem and this solves it for you.

dmatest_epiam2.bin is the bios update. It's linked to from the thread in my first post (on page 8 ) and is available here:
