Google site search:

site:mysettopbox.tv "this version of xmame is not supported"

results in three returns. 2 of which give "The topic or post you requested does not exist"

and this is the third.

Using the search link at the top for "this version of xmame is not supported" results in 25 returns, only this one has the error mentioned.

So, yeah, I searched the forum and pathetically, this is the most informative of responses. *THANKS*

I've not seen that error message, I am also having problems with mythgame, but I've got some more searching to do before I start forum posting.

As for the catver.ini question, mythtv.info had then answers for me:
http://mythtv.info/moin.cgi/MythGameHowTo
Which links to a page with a zipped catver.ini whic you need to unzip and place in the location shown in your mythfrontend game settings (which is not necessarily the location shown in the mythtv.info page, mine wasn't)

well I guess the threads about it got lost in the hack a while back. There were some very long threads about that exact error. I personally don't use mythgame, so I have no clue, but I know there was alot of discussion about it.

those google search results don't happen to have a cache do they?

Yeah, they've got the cache but as you mention, they are multi-page and the cache won't go that deep...

Well, it's all about noodling. I'll post here if I make any headway.
