I have a Pentium3 1ghz 512 ram PVR350, R5A16 box that i finally got working so i can browse all my channels instead of only 1 channel. The problem is liveTv and recordings are both choppy. I would think i could atleast watch live tv without it being choppy(i was able to watch and record with the windows software that came with). I'm sure i'm missing a setting or something. If i can get this to work then i'm going to try the tvout... I am new to linux and knoppmyth so if you can help feel free to talk down to me

Thanks for the help

1) What are you using for a video card and video drivers?

2) Have you checked the DMA is enabled for you HD?

tuxracer is going to be choppy unless you have a video card with accelerated drivers and in the case of nvidia have installed those drivers, because they are not open source. and you will never have smooth games using the pvr350 tvout as it doesn't support xv much less opengl.
