anyone ever done a software raid with knoppmyth? i got a 40gb hard drive for my system files and then two 250gb's for storage. I want to set them up as a software raid so I got one huge 500gb for my storage. I should be able to do this with cfdisk no problem, but then how do i move the knoppmyth storage location/database over to my new drives?

You may consider using LVM to join your drives instead of software raid. There's some information on how to set it up on the KnoppMyth wiki. See http://knoppmythwiki.org.

Yeah, you're not really asking for any real RAID level, you're asking for JBOD (just a bunch of disks) which more or less equivalent to what LVM gets you.

look into md and the "linear" mode. this allows data to spill on to each one sequentially.
