I decided to go back to R5A16 after having some problems with R4V5. Most things seem to be working alright, but my remote isn't working. At first, I thought it was just that lirc wasn't started, but after starting it, I still had no remote. This is aggrevating.

any suggestions?

I'm using an e-machine, 2.4GHz, PVR-350, 200G HD.

Thanks,
Ray

I tried irw with /dev/lircd and that shows that the driver is working okay and that the remote works fine. It's just that mythtv isn't actually using the inputs. What do I have to do to fix that in Myth?

don't know if this is your problem, but i had to run /usr/local/bin/lirc-reconfig.sh to get my remote to start working. i have the grey hauppauge, and i think the script isn't supposed to be necessary for this remote but it was for me.

Got it working. Had to change the lircrc file in .mythtv and had to setup the system to start the lirc service on boot. Once that was done it worked fine.

I had the same problem and all I had to do was enable lirc under webmin (once you configure that).

Search the wiki, there are directions for enabling and acccessing it. It's a very convenient web interface for sysadmin tasks.
