Hi,

I'm having some problems with the displayed tv picture.
Both mythTV and mplayer. are cutting about 2 cm of the bottom of the tv image. I also have a thin blue line at the left side of the screen. I think i read a post about this some time ago but I couldn't find it.

Somebody knows how to solve this problem or know which post discussed this issue?

Thanx!

Perhaps you could answer my question about what video card you have. Otherwise nobody is going to be able to help you.

I have a GeForce2 MX400 64Mb and it supports overscan fine. The thing is you need to use the nvtv application instead of the overscan settings in XF86Config-4. Search the forum for nvtv and you will find plenty of information including some very recent stuff.

Hi Greg,

I still have the problem with the cutting but i don't think this is a overscan issue.
I can see the entire desktop in knoppmyth and, when I record a TV show, and afterwords play it on another computer, it's also missing 2 cm at the bootom.

Any other ideas?

Well if the recordings actually have part of the picture missing it must be a recording setup issue. You will need to post the details of your capture card.

Yeah....
n mythfrontend, I went to util/setup->setup->TV Settings->Recording profile->MPEG2 Encoderes and changed width to 720 and height to 576.
That worked.
I found a post about it(I can't find it now).

BTW - The meta lessons here are that, number one, if you provide enough detail up front, it doesn't take 4 days to ge an answer, and number 2, searching the forums first will usually provide the answer without asking. ;-)
